THEO 673 Ethics II: Responsibility in a Technological Age (3 credits)
Drawing on the work of Hans Jonas, Jurgen Habermas and Edmund Pellegrino, this course explores the concept of “responsibility” as a strategy for responding to 21st century challenges in science and ethics.

THEO 675 Issues in Ethical Research: Science, Theology and Ethics
This course will examine a series of themes and questions arising in the interface between theology and science focusing on the connection between value and worldviews. We will look at the similarities and differences between scientific and theological inquiry and the ethical significance of the growing conversation between the two.

LOYC 310 Science and the Contemporary World (3 credits)
This course explores the basic issues of the philosophy of science by examining the nature of science as an activity and a way of understanding the world. Cultural variations in the philosophy of science are discussed as well as contemporary disputes involving the interpretation of science: Darwinism; the 'Science Wars'; science and religion; and feminist critiques of science. This course is intended to develop critical thinking and analysis, and deductive and inductive reasoning.
